Ice2Thrust.Space and SpaceVantage: Joining Forces to Build Europe’s Future Space Workforce

To maximise impact and align with Europe’s long-term vision for space, Ice2Thrust.Space is partnering with SpaceVantage, an EU-funded initiative (Grant Agreement No. 101246589) dedicated to strengthening Europe’s future space workforce by bridging education and industry.
SpaceVantage develops future-ready skills, adaptive learning pathways, and sustainable education–industry collaboration models that embed digital, green, and deep-tech competencies into training systems across Europe.
The collaboration creates powerful cross-project synergies: while Ice2Thrust.Space pushes the boundaries of sustainable space technology, SpaceVantage ensures that the next generation of European professionals is equipped with the skills needed to develop, operate, and scale it.
What will the partnership between the two projects bring?
“Space innovation needs people as much as technology. Through SpaceVantage, we aim to help build the skills, collaboration models, and learning opportunities that will enable the next generation of European professionals to actively contribute to the future of the space sector. Collaborating with Ice2Thrust is a great example of how technology and human capital development can move forward together.”
— Katerina Triantafyllidi, SpaceVantage Project Coordination Team.
Notably, Tech Tour acts as a natural bridge between the two projects, serving as Work Package lead for Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation in Ice2Thrust.Space, and as a partner in SpaceVantage — making this collaboration a reflection of a shared vision for a competitive, skilled, and sustainable European space economy.
“The technology we are developing in Ice2Thrust.Space is only as impactful as the ecosystem that can bring it to life. By connecting with SpaceVantage, we are helping to ensure that Europe not only leads in green space innovation but also cultivates the talent to sustain it for generations to come.”
— Denitsa Georgieva, Senior Innovation Programmes Manager, Tech Tour
Together, the two projects reinforce Europe’s leadership in space technologies — one by advancing the frontier of sustainable propulsion and in-space resources, the other by preparing the workforce that will drive the space economy forward. This partnership is a concrete step toward an integrated European space ecosystem where cutting-edge research and human capital development go hand in hand.
We’re excited about the future of space innovation and look forward to the impact this partnership will create. 🚀
